Heal Breast Cancer Foundation Brings Together Groundbreaking Honorees and Cause-worthy Celebrities for Night of Fundraising and “Merging Medicine with Integrative Alternatives”
LOS ANGELES, CA - March 5, 2007 - On Thursday, February 22, the Sofitel hotel in Los Angeles played host to some of the most acclaimed inspirational teachers of our time. Over 300 guests donated much needed funds to honor six of the leading proponents of integrative medicine. Honorees were: Eckhart Tolle, author of New York Times best-seller “The Power of Now” and one of the greatest spiritual gurus of now, Dr. Dean Ornish, alternative medicine trailblazer and director of the Preventative Medicine Research Institute, William Arntz, producer, director, and screenwriter behind “What the #$*! Do We Know?”, Dr. Carl Simonton, internationally renowned oncologist known for his pioneering insights and research in the field of psychosocial oncology, Dr. Chrisitane Northrup, internationally praised for her approach to women’s health and wellness and Susan Ryan Jordan (Mother of actress Meg Ryan) and author of “The Immune Spirit: A Story of Love Loss and Healing.” Each honoree also received an original painting by famed spiritual artist, Paul Heussenstamm.
The event began with red carpet arrivals of celebrity supporters and honorees who donated both their time and money to support the Heal Breast Cancer Foundation. Celebrities included our host, Selena’s Jon Seda; Drew Heriot, the director of the film phenomenon, The Secret; “The Bold and the Beautiful’s” Ron Moss, “Malcolm in the Middle’s” Caitlin Crosby, “RENO 911!: Miami’s” Brandon Molale; and Dannion Brinkley best-selling author “Saved by the Light” and Ellaine Hendricks (Joan of Arcadia and What the Bleep). A sumptuous three course gala dinner, prepared by Kerry Simon of SIMON/LA initiated the evening, followed by musical performances from R&B singer Leah Devon, and violinist Lili Haydn.

Guests browsed a dazzling selection of silent auction items, featuring art from the Andrew Weiss Gallery, Arvon, Jurlique, Gigi, Manis Bakery, ECOver, Gratefulbody, Danskin, Sketchers, Kerry Hotels, Longo Toyota, Geoffrey Mailbu, Exhale, Key Club, BabyDish, LoJack, Great Escapes, the Golden Door Spa a LACMA and so much more. A live auction featured items such as a lifestyle consultation with Dr. Dean Ornish, a luxury 5-Day Azul Spa & Resort Vacation package, a child portrait commission by artist Brooke Churchill and a frenzied bid to join Eckhart Tolle in a personal consultation - his first such offering in 7 years. Attendees and honorees went home with a gift bag so incredibly full, few were able to carry it out single handedly. Of the many products included in the bag were hard bound copies of Truth Heals by Deborah King, Ph.D., The Biology of Belief by Bruce Lipton, Ph.D., a DVD of Chasing the Light, a collection of six full sized Biotene Oral Care products, well-being products from theray.org, CDs from SHANTI SHANTI and Sachal Vasandani, Andean Dream cookies, “Water Me Well” Inner Healing Apparel, Balance Bands, Q-link, Lip Goddess lip gloss and lotion from Aubrey Organics.
